My Activity:
About Me:
I am a writer and a physician-cognitive psychotherapist. I live in the Philippines with my son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. I write copy for a web site, various freelance clients, and a book on The Secret of Cognitive Self-Actualization, which I hope someone will read someday, but I have my doubts. I may have to give it away. I practice cognitive therapy with online video conferencing for people who are having emotional trouble and I love to do that. It only works for fairly intelligent people who really want to find a better way to live (think) and it isn't for every body.
Interests:
Filipinas. If you are illiterate that refers to female filipinos, Philippine natives.
Belief systems of mankind, from Baha'i to Zoroastrianism.
Internet communication and the inherent problems and benefits of learning to effectively communicate in this medium.
Welding. I just learned how to use a MIG welder. I have an art project I want to do.
Digg. Shuzak (most recently). Might be nice to know a few geeks.
Debunking the myth of Neuropsychiatry, especially the myth that we all need some kind of drug to be happy and productive people.
Books:
Mine: How to Be More Creative. Non-Hormonal Treatment of Menopause. Modern Stress Management. The Secret of (Cognitive) Self-Actualization (in progress). The Singularity Hubris (fiction in progress). The menopause book was pretty popular and people liked the section on menopausal depression for one thing I told women how to deal with their emotions with out using drugs. (Hint: it's all in the belief system).
Eckhart Tolle: The Power of Now
People I look up to:
My son who is infuriatingly intelligent and a very good businessman and a very good father to his children; my daughter-in-law, who seems to have her head screwed on just about right; Carl Sagan, who knew something about thinking clearly;
Oh shit, that's enough.
Geeky Habits:
None. All of my habits are perfectly normal. The rest of mankind are just incredibly stupid.
Zakbook:

If you go back to the Men's Health site and search with quotes: "get lucky", it should be the third result, "Want to hit the jackpot like the Powerball winners? This science shows you how"....(more)
