Windows 7, Security Essentials. Best thing. Norton likes to hook itself into everything and use a ridiculous amount of memory. AVG's better, and what I use, but is uses too much memory also. Norton 2010 is not as bad as the others. Avast misses a lot.

Even for the people outside of them it was more of being friends cause they weren't in one, and they all secretly hated each other. Honestly I think its gotta be the same procedure anywhere: Just fine the few who can deal with you, and you can deal with, and hang out with them. We were more of a racial school lol....

This is what I wish Live Albums were more like. Barely able to hear the crowd, but still hear you talk. I actually enjoyed the album for the most part.
Track 16's ID3 Tags are messed up. Mostly fine, but track title and display title, are incomplete. Also I don't have the time atm to listen through it again for the track that drops out, but I assume it was a live technical issue thing. Or you know I was hallucinating or something.

I started with DOS on a packard bell myself
After that I went to 95, ME, then XP, and dabbled on a friends pc with Vista. Now I'm not some big microsoft hater. I've never really got mucho problems, and I've only got a few minor complaints about XP which is what I use predominantly.
I hate Vista. I don't like the eye candy or anything about it. It's easy to use in a way that your in prison, and it's easy for anyone to use you as their bitch.
XP is what I use predominantly: I'm dualbooting with Ubuntu. I have few complaints with it, the main two being that I have a constant problem of not being able to delete stuff because it's "in use". there's no easy way to circumvent it. (yes I've tried killbox. No it doesn't help). and my _MAIN_ problem with it: Why the FUCK do you need 14 gigs of undeletable space? If I feel confident that I don't need it for (I believe it's 'allocated' for a restore) then freaking let me delete it. or change how much size it uses. I've been fighting these large sections for ages and it bothers me to pieces.
Ubuntu: Personally I really want to change to Kubuntu as zen suggested above. Not so much for the eye candy, but for pretty much everything being customizable. As it stands I dualboot with Ubuntu. Couple of things. I didn't realize I couldn't just install it and go. I had to install and reinstall ~10 times. But that's me I didn't get the partitioning and all that. I didn't realize also that I needed ext2fs or whatever it's called to be able to cross access my files. ok, no big deal, but I installed after and I needed to install that first.
after that. I _love_ ubuntu. there are a lot more problems with it (for me and I'm a newb so I fully expect for most of these to be gone). It does everything and such and isn't a big hastle. Installing is something that I have problems with. If its easy to apt-get it's no big deal. But I don't know what compiling, shells, etc and all that is. So it gets difficult for me. but again this is something that I expect to go away once I get more comfortable. The other major problem is software/games. I have all the software I want need -in windows. I don't want to learn a whole new set 'alternative' programs in ubuntu. That is actually what's holding me back from booting in Ubuntu a lot more often. I only boot it when I know I won't be, say photoshopping, or playing some game (non WINE supported stuff or choppy. and I _HATE_ gimp). but again I expect things to actually get better: not hastily made fixes and poor patches. Also multiple desktops OWN and virtual dimension in windows just doesn't cut it. WHY do we still only have one desktop?
anyway. this has pretty much nothing to do about anything. prhaps I should write a blog post about this stuff.
anyway I'm confident you'll be able to transition easier than I did/am, and that you will like it also. My advice is try to have fun while learning it, and buy _TONS_ of patience.

Sounds awesome actually. I have only one problem with it and that's names. Personally I can handle all sorts of crappy names like unopoo. I'd just make it so names can't beigin with Xx or XXX
or XxX or such variations. that's all. and I don't like the pausing of action myself. I think you should have to prepare your spells before going out and then set them to quick keys maybe one or two, and one or two for combinating spells.

Although from the sound of "I don't think telling him he is something he wasn't would change him." it sounds like you believe that the "soul" or "essence" "personality" or whatever the heck you want to call it is not stored in the brain, or at least not in the same way that memories are and is therefore unaffected. I'm not the best person to answer this question as my general standpoint is: get rid of all humans possible, which obviously includes preventing birth. The fact that you're releasing something you can't really control to me is the problem: so what happens if it mutates and such in a way that we can't defend against it.

1.I recall reading somewhere that the natives suffered more loss from the new diseases and such the conquistadors brought with them: if that's true I'd bring a couple things of vaccines supplies, and the rest in lightweight guns and ammo.

F.E.A.R. was supposed to be a pretty good FPS for the pc, and BLACK for the ps2. If you've never played starcraft I'd suggest that, and since you can emulate I'd suggest the classics:
starfox,
super metroid (SNES
metroid(NES)
Star Tropics (NES)
Super Mario RPG (Nintendo 64)
Chrono Trigger and Secret Of Mana [SNES](which are personally two of my favorite games.)
Final Fantasy [Various](american III was my favorite)
I hear Battlefield 2 for pc is good (and same with the aforementioned counterstrike)
3 Wonders is short but entertaining
Sonic 2 (genesis)
and I don't know if dreamcast emulators exist (man I wish mine wasn't stolen) I remember a game called EVO and enjoying it but whether it was actually good or not I can't recall.
speaking of E.V.O. is an evolution game for SNES I believe I can't recall to clearly.

well as per obviousness. I can eat fire, blow fire, spin poi (rather badly but I want to learn how more), I am rather good on trapeze (i.e. I have NO muscle. trust me. pushups are the death of me. they'll tell me to do one and i'll die. I however can lift my 200 lb or so cousin in the air while upside down hanging by my knees on a bar, while she does three freaking tricks on me. my arm popped out and I STILL didn't drop her. I'm too cool). and i'm rather terrible at the unicycle also

What do you believe about killing? Is killing humans always wrong? Animals? Plants?

Well, I feel like I will be the only one with the opinion that it's not wrong. Things die. People die. Things get killed. People get killed. I don't put value on human life more so than anything else. Rather, I would not have qualms about it. I'm sure this makes me sound a bit psycho-murdery. lol. I'm not. I just don't see a big deal. Maybe it's because I'm used to it. Desensitization I believe it's called although I could be wrong. Besides, it's not as if murderers are left alone. To kill someone takes on the weight of their life. I would say most people can't handle that. I don't think war is evil either. War does what it does, and generally from what i know (have an uncle out in iraq right now) most soldier esque type people believe in what they are doing. As for capital punishment, I just wish they'd kill people faster so as not to have prison clutter, or do as someone else suggested and have forced work.

Well when I use the new post tab I find that two things are, while not a big deal, annoying. One is that one I go to check the community to post in, sometimes I missclick and click the link. My suggestion was to not have them as links, but I like poss' idea to have them open in a new window/tab much better. The other is that the communities are not listed in alphebetical order. I'm not particularly sure how they are listed actually. For me though, I have a hard time finding things if it's not in an obvious order such as alphebetical.

Wait. is a hub the same as a router? Is that where I'm getting confused? And can you explain more about my needing three ethernet cables more? I mean I could understand if i was hooking up three computers but i'm only hooking up two. shouldn't two suffice?

You can't transfer music from an iPod to your computer without special software (and some of those "special software" tools are license-keyed to only work with one iPod - you have to buy the software again for each of your players.)

it's not there unless you have hidden folders viewable. all of them have weirdo names, but moved to the harddrive their fine. put them all in one folder and organize by track/artist/whatever and bam.

ATB I did a really lame version of it. I just 'ran' away. I say 'ran' because what I really did was hide under a table in the house for three days. Nobody noticed or cared. But anyway. I may/may not have a problem with depression, I wouldn't know, I don't know what's 'normal' and what isn't. I've consistently thought about suicide since I was about nine when I tried it (don't ask how it that went. Never try to hang yourself when your room has no door.) I have gone and done self mutilation (cutting/burning. I have gone through an entire year doing nothing but sleeping, eating the bare minimum, and going through school. My point is I agree with Fibs. It's not talked about enough. I dislike the whole 'emo' thing. Sure maybe a good 80 percent are attention seekers but those that need the help or may need the help are avoided simply because of a label. I still haven't gotten help and I still have a problem with it constantly. I don't even know if I'm depressed or 'going through the motions' so to speak. Fibs made a pretty accurate and succinct summary of it, so if you want the short version read her post. But I have a tendancy to think. I will sit and think, about how I can't do something for instance. I will get pissed off at myself for not being able to do it, not having the patience to do it, then think "hey this is really fucking stupid to be all upset about", problem is I get upset about getting upset. And it just continues, it drives me nuts. Sleep is a freaking battle now, due to things like that. (plus after that I'll wonder for hours on how I got like this). I do feel that suicide is a kind of cowardice no matter what but a lot of the time it seems like there's no other choice. And now that I'm no longer a tax deduction no one would care, other than my father, and only because I'd no longer be able to help him out. Wow. that was long. again. *sigh* sorry

I have to agree with all of you. I'm not romantic: far from it. But I know it exists I've seen it, I've been through it. I'm not one into romance, or physical things. I can do perfectly fine without both. They don't matter to me. As long as someones there and cares, that's all I need. First, my main stress is thinking too much. I honestly think about the smallest details of any given day or problem for days. Thinking builds up inside this mind. It's a very disturbing habit on my end, but the only way I can really convince myself that things aren't bad is when they finally turn out right.
I have the same problem. I think way to much. I can never shut off the voices in my head, constantly arguing, about stuff. I understand this completly. Ati, I would take your advice but there isn't really anything that I'm really interested in, or good at. I do not have the patience to do anything, and generally whenever I do, I throw a fit, and incidentally start thinking.
As for your other problems I can't help at all. I'll look around and such but I can't guarantee anything, and ati, rob said just about anything I'd say.

My father has limes disease/arthritus really bad, sometimes he can't get up he's in so much pain and it's hard for him to move. I uninstalled all my add ons then realized that you said plugins. . .but anyway. oddly enough uninstalling plugins stopped firefox from freezing and having hte process needing to be ended so that's somewhat better. I'll try the plugins this time. Just keeping people updated.

ati i get that too. When I'm creating a new topics post. I believe it was used as a simliar topics box thing but it's in the way and doesn't show anything anymore. as for the rest of the things, I'm adaptable and learn forum structure things fast. So get coding,make your own, then idea them. Perhaps there should be some kind of place to upload your things, so others can edit and comment on them?

I have yet to try the plugins thing, but as none of them have been updated or anything recently (well other that dta which i updated today, but the problems happening for a while now) i dont see why that would cause it. Poss, I think it's for if you charge for you music. As you host your music free, they can't collect royalties, I believe. Once you charge, they will slap royalties on it and steal your money. Anyone ever figure out my question (it's in the long winded rant: Does a donation to a band count as something that the riaa can collect on. I used the example of this donating of jamendo.) And never mind about the digg link I got it.

I want to shoot the riaa in the face. This makes me sick. Literally too, I couldn't eat. And I love to eat. If the riaa wants to make money off their members I don't care. They shouldn't make members off of everyone. The incentive for making music is dwindling because of these idiots. I know not everyone does it for money, but if you even put it up for free and sell your music, it's disgusting to me that they get royalties. Something like jamendo.com.
as a side note can someone tell me what they are getting royalties for?

That's what I thought. That's stupid. You said it: The artists can't even choose. There is no way that this is legal/constitutional. Who in their right mind would think that something like this is a good idea. My mother who cares nothing for such things even says this is pretty stupid and not right at all.

this is exactly my problem with it. Particularly the "taking money from the people". I know it really doesn't help but this is why I will torrent music and not feel bad for it. The artists probably get like two cents for every song buy. To me it's much easier to download them, then do what I can send some money if you can track them down, etc. This is why I like jamendo and related sites (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamendo), (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnatune). To me this is the best possible thing for artists. I'm not stupid enough to think that it's perfect but it is far better than this riaa junk. I wonder how it affects these. Jamendo you d/l for free, and if you like it you donate to help. Magnatune you pay for how well the quality is. from 8-18 bucks or so I think. It's up to you. There's actually an article about it (http://www.teleread.org/blog/?p=613. It's probably more intelligent than my babbling. I hate the direction the music industry is going, and I feel that the riaa is a big problem in it. It wasn't such a bad idea but now it's just complete crap. A greedy corporate thing. I'll write more when I'm thinking clear. Or not depends on how I feel. I did make sure every artist and band I know knew about this though.

geez how the hell did this one escape my notice for so long. Have the users vote on the geekiness of a topic. and then have the browse set to search from highest geek topics to lowest geek topics as default. Add the option of doing it vice versa for those that want to find a less geeky, casual thread. This way, we can keep the lesss geeky things(I agree with ati here, for those too lazy to scroll "I actually think that having a lot of different kinds of discussion on Shuzak is good. I think there should be options to allow users to avoid seeing certain kinds of stuff, but I think stopping such conversations isn't a good idea."), but it would seem that we are more geek orientated. Possibly changing how much karma is given per post by the geekiness rating? Dunno just an idea. And I really like that teaching idea. Especially since I don't know much of anything. It's actually one of the reasons I came to shuzak.

To me the best thing is the userbase. On facebook and myspace, to me anyway it's harder to meet new people. Here I was able to just like join in randomly. The people here are great, (To the point I have a thread dedicated to my being missing. too cool. my own family was like 'whatever') So thanks to you guys. Plus I've been learning stuff I didn't know, mainly through cons, since I have so much free time to try to help him with whatever he's doing.

kof on average four hours is a good day. I get an hour and a half generally. I have trouble sleeping. and trouble staying asleep. I can usually go for at least 2 weeks before i crash for about 6 hours. then i'm good to go on an 1.5 hours of sleep again. it's really quite annoying. I can function perfectly well too. well perfectly well for me anyway.

i've got a 100 gig hardrive, half of which is used fo music. the other half is movies. As for where i keep stuff excluding music, i put it on dvds. Unfortuantely i don't have a dvd burner and sorely need one,s o i can clear the rest of those movies off my hardrive.

I loves you all! I have officially been dropped from college and am trying to find a job. I'm living with my mother, who also is trying to find a job she has been fired from hers in favor of nepotism (huzzah!). She is going through a divorce also. I am no longer kidnapped as i explained to someone or another. The internet at my mothers house is all screwed up. We are supposed to have dsl (att) but AT&T hates us. We've been reduced to dialup, which is severely slow. And it makes me cry. Plus I don't have direct access because i have to use my mothers computer, which is something she uses often too. Well I'm doing fine. I do jigs, I play games, go job hunting, go out with my girlfriend, and then go home and sleep. So it's all good. Regrettably I won't be able to be on very much, but I will do what I can! I miss you guys mucho.

For those of you who use Stumblevideo.com like hobs does. There IS a way to get the youtube link. The problem stems from the link not being in the 'view page source'.
Now I, in my oh-so-clever way (lack of html knowledge. go figure) figured it out. If you select from the title of the video, down to the bottom of the thumbs down thing (including the number) it selects the video. NOW if you click 'view selection source', and ctrl-f for youtube, you'll find the link.

Hobs, I'll admit it. I'd probably like WoW. I'm not a social person in real life. I have no social skills. In an MMO I have the same. In an MMO however, I don't have to do anything. People can ask me, "How do I do this" blahblahblah (I know people can do this in real life, but it's much more likely in a MMO scenario). In a situation like this, I can be myself without tensing up or anything. Sometimes, they come back. That's how I make friends. I've done it just recently actually. For me it's not having the crazy social pressure. As you know Hobs, my computer system is crap, and as such the only MMO I play is Maple Story, which learningnerd, is exactly the kind of game you don't like. I've had fun. I made new online friends recently. I discovered new tricks to use. But most of all it's the community thing for me. I enjoy helping people out, but I can't do it in real life. But anyway, I've seen to go on about absolutely nothing. Hmmmm. . .

I think it's generally agreed upon that Dragonball is better than Dragon Ball Z. And am I the only person who loved the buu saga? Fighting candy!? Super ghost kamikaze attack! I loved it. but anyway that's not my point. Naruto. I like it. I started reading it in shonen jump and liked it. Bought the series subbed. (As I do any series). Still like it. Yeah filler sucks. Even then though I liked a lot of them. But anyway. What was the point of this? I forget. . .
FYI I watched Dragon Ball Z in 5 languages and none in english. Stupid not having cable, and getting strange foreign channels. . .

I listen to Dragonforce. Honestly though I can't get seriously into them. Bands these days seem to me go for speed over everything. Not saying they're bad or anything just that it could be better composed. To me doesn't seem all that complex, just fast. Reminds me of newer slayer stuff.

For me it's canned food. Spaghetti-o's and chili beans, with fruit cocktails in between. Hit up that aldi spend like 50 bucks of your parents money for hundreds of cans food. eat, repeat. As for drinks I mainly drink water. I'll venture for some apple juice or something every once in a while. Though I will DOWN ramune and jones soda if it's available.

Am I the only person who doesn't really like RATM?
Anyway. I'm not sure how they're rated in any other country but in the U.S. I'm shocked to hear of someone else who listens to them. Moi Dix Mois. I would assume it's fairly popular elsewhere though as it has Mana in it. ahhh. . .underrated. . .I don't really talk to people so I'm not sure if things are underrated or not. . .Antarhes is like Evanescence I'm told but I'm not sure, I've never listened to Evanescence. I don't play to many pc games that aren't free, as my computer sucks and hates me. Console game music however is awesome. There's Nobuo Uematsu, the Chrono Cross soundtrack, etc. I think a lot of music in games is way underrated and goes unnoticed to much.

is this all on youtube stuff? I don't really like to watch things on youtube, which means I'll have to find where I can direct download or torrent when i get back home. One of my friends who doesn't even like anime watches this show so it has to be good. BlakeD Beck is an awesome show. I have the entire series, and I believe the manga is even longer than the show but I could be mistaken about that.

I really like harmotion. That game is addicting for me but I can't understand why. I'm also fond of Ray-Hound, and Warning Forever. I first thought it was a list of 101 free games you can play on a crap-pc. Alas it is not because some of those games look really interesting/fun.

I honestly don't know I'm not to keen on genre's because there's so many out there it's hard to keep them all straight. I actually am fairly interested in it, but I am unable because from what I've seen its mostly distributed via torrents (Being in private certified housing for college I am unable to use torrents with). If someone can leave me a link of a few places I can direct download that'd be pretty cool.

RyeGye I'm going to have to go with you on this one. The problem is in our perception/belief or whatever the correct word is. I think "appear" is the word to catch in your argument. We simply can't think of something being simply 50/50. We have to have the "chance" for it to be more inclined to land heads after landing on tails 10 times, 30 times, etc. Actually I kind of like that thought of the 'neural network' analogy thing, I'll have to check those out Nadeem.
