I dissagree, i mean look at digg, it gets screwed over every day by big groups cheating their way to the front page, and also people go through all the comments and rate them down. Atleast with moderators who have been proven to trust, they will deal with it fairly.

not really, if you have a few moderators, they could easily handle a queue of reported posts, i mean how many do you really think there would be. not many. plus they would have the option of maybe freezing the account from posting for a while. The community owner could also have the option of banning people from posting in their group too.

If nothing can be done about it, i'm just gona keep fucking their server up over and over. About contacting them, well i have emailed them a number of times, i have tried contacting them through the site, but they keep banning my ip, so i do not think they will be "mature" about it. Oh and i have the original files still, which were made about half a year ago. Plus i even emailed them to myself because i heard thats a way of proving you were first to make a script or something. lol Another thing to add to the situation is the people who i sold the script to, have already contacted their lawyer about the script being stolen of them, so i guess we will have to see how it turns out.

The way i do it, and many others is to do a query to update a field called last_active or whatever you wish to call it, update it with the latest time. Then you just select the people who were last active within say 5, 10, 15 mins? or whatever time you wish. Mr admin probably already knows this, but whatever, i wanted to say it anyway.. lol

I have an idea for a chatroom, a global one, meaning its shown on every page, it should use ajax though, so more of a kinda chatbox. Only members should be able to use it though, so block it from updating for guests. Also if you were to do this, there should be a timeout to stop people leaving a page open and allowing it to update over and over. I have seen this done on a few sites and it really gets people involved more than a chat room set up on a specific page.

I have been pretty much labled throughout my life as a cool geek.. lol, mainly because i have kind of a split personaly, on one side i love programming, it takes up half of my life, then the other side i spend going out getting as wasted as possible. lol, love going raving, to clubs, pubs, bars and so on, but also love php, sql, stats and other geeky things. Its kind of strange though, the people i hang out with know nothing about computers, yet they listen to me when i talk about it.. lol So i guess i experience the best of both worlds This is why my life is perfect. I have never been picked on for my geeky side either.
