| In my school, Noblesville High School, there really are two main cliques. Geeks and Everyone Else. Geeks (about 7/8 of the school) use this term affectionately, and even though we are all different (goths, preps, jocks, artists, and nomads) we all share a common set of ideas: 1.) It is okay to break out your Geek glasses. 2.) Sweats, mini skirt, skinny jeans, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT! 3.) Don't Judge. 4.) If someone does something especially geeky, applaud and laugh. So I really want to know how Geeks are treated in other schools. Does anyone have any stories from the nerd herd at there school? |

| lol no one visits here anymore xD as for your question, in my high school it was more gang related for most people: Geeks included. Even for the people outside of them it was more of being friends cause they weren't in one, and they all secretly hated each other. Honestly I think its gotta be the same procedure anywhere: Just fine the few who can deal with you, and you can deal with, and hang out with them. We were more of a racial school lol.... |

| If only my school were as geek filled as yours Kayla. Things would be so much more fun. Unfortunately mine is much like Eclipse's was. Amusing yes, friendly no. | |||||

At our school, I would say at least 85% of the student body can be classified as christian, republican, athletic (and if not athletic yourself, you definitely attend all football games), with rich family and friends. The only culture we seem to have here revolves around church and expensive things like boats, nice houses, large pools, farms, and the periodic airplane. The other 15% are like blank sheets of paper. No stereotype whatsoever. Some say not having a stereotype is good, but it has its downsides. The blank sheets of paper get bored and so they try to be different. Causing certain ones to lash out, desperately trying to be eye-catching and new. Good... in a way, but very bad if you live in the wrong place for this. As we do. That is why people come up with crazy names like "goth" "emo" "indie"... When really we're all just geeks.... or blank sheets of paper... with poorly drawn doodles on them... or whatever you want to call us. I don't really know how to explain the geeks at Maryville High School, but I'm pretty sure they're there... |
